What Is Prostamax?
Prostamax is a short synthetic peptide made of four amino acids. It belongs to the family of short regulatory peptides studied by Vladimir Khavinson and colleagues, who described a series of two- to four-residue peptides and the laboratory methods used to characterize them. Related peptides in the same family include the tripeptides studied under names such as Pinealon (Glu-Asp-Arg). Short peptides of this kind are studied in cell-culture models for how they interact with chromatin and influence gene expression.
Characterization and Quality Documentation
NuRev lots are tested by independent third-party laboratories. A useful Certificate of Analysis for a research peptide shows:
- Identity by mass spectrometry, matched to the expected molecular weight (about 488 Da)
- Purity by HPLC, with the chromatogram
- A lot number identical to the one printed on the vial
- The name of the testing laboratory and the test date
Each NuRev vial label carries a QR code that opens the matching lot’s documents. All published reports are in the certificate of analysis library; see how to read a peptide COA for what each section means.
Storage and Handling of Lyophilized Prostamax
General practice for lyophilized short peptides applies:
- Store the sealed vial at −20 °C, protected from light and moisture. Short-term storage at 2–8 °C is acceptable.
- Let the vial reach room temperature before opening, to avoid condensation.
- After reconstitution, aliquot the solution and avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
More detail is in our peptide storage guide. NuRev supplies Prostamax 20 mg for laboratory research use only.
