SNAP-8 (acetyl octapeptide-3) is a synthetic eight-residue peptide, Ac-Glu-Glu-Met-Gln-Arg-Arg-Ala-Asp-NH2, modeled on the N-terminal end of SNAP-25, one of the SNARE proteins that assemble during vesicle fusion. It extends the six-residue acetyl hexapeptide-3 (argireline) by two amino acids. In laboratory research it is used to study SNARE complex assembly and competitive inhibition of SNAP-25 binding in in-vitro models.
